Schmallenberg. The heart of the Frankfurt Christmas market, the large fir tree on the Römer, comes this year from the Schmallenberg Sauerland. After a careful selection process by the Schmallenberg town forester Hunker and numerous representatives of the press from Frankfurt, the approximately 30-metre-high spruce will begin its journey from Schmallenberg to Frankfurt am Main on a flatbed truck at the beginning of November. On Monday, 27.11.2017, all preparations will be completed in Frankfurt, as the official opening of the Christmas market is scheduled for 5 pm. This annual event will be celebrated with numerous guests of honour and spectators and with great local media interest. The people of Schmallenberg can also be there, and they are cordially invited to spend a nice day in Frankfurt and conclude it with a visit to the Christmas market opening. Several buses will set off from Schmallenberg towards the Main metropolis at 10 a.m. on 27 November 2017, the return trip is planned for 9 p.m. For only 24.00 € per person, everyone will have the opportunity to visit the Christmas market in Frankfurt in a relaxed bus trip.
