Waldskulpturenweg

Nature meets art

The unique Waldskulpturenweg between nature and art Schmallenberg and Bad Berleburg takes you a total of 23 km to 11 extraordinary sculptures and art installations.

They all combine two themes: The often contradictory connection between man and nature on the one hand and the development of the two neighboring regions Wittgenstein and Sauerland. For centuries, they have been separated by a territorial, linguistic, cultural and religious border, which is now being crossed by means of art.

Textiles has a Schmallenberg long tradition. Stocking knitting factories make the city famous to this day, and in earlier times spinning, weaving and sewing took place everywhere. The 2015 festival served as the prelude, followed by various workshops and exhibitions this year, and will continue to be offered in the future.
